Cointiply review and guide

Cointiply is one of many ways you can earn cryptocurrency, such as bitcoin, online. Cointiply offers both bitcoin and doge withdrawal options, but if you prefer another cryptocurrency, other websites will allow you to trade these for the cryptocurrency of your choice. Cointiply offers a variety of ways to earn coins, which you will later convert into cryptocurrency. 100 coins = 1 US penny ($0.01), and the exchange rate to bitcoin or doge varies. Some methods of earning on Cointiply are very easy, but pay less, whereas others are harder but pay more. Easy methods include the faucet and PTC ads, whereas a higher paying method is completing surveys. If you want to see a payment proof, please scroll to near the bottom of this page.

Remember to disable any proxies, VPNs, and adblockers while using Cointiply. If Cointiply does catch you using a proxy or VPN, they may terminate your account without notice and keep all your earnings. However, malware blockers are probably okay, and you probably do want HTTPS Everywhere for security purposes. For further details on how to configure a browser or browser profile to use with Cointiply faucets and other faucets and crypto-earning sites, see my guide on the subject.

Surveys

If you really want to earn a lot on Cointiply, surveys are the way to go. Depending on where you live and the availability of surveys there, and whether you have the sorts of qualities that many survey writers look for, you may be able to easily earn $5-$10 per day doing an hour or two worth of surveys per day. Or you might not, if there aren't many surveys available in your country, or you don't have as many of the qualities that survey writers look for. Also, if you have privacy concerns and are content with small earnings, feel free to avoid this part of the site. TheoremReach is one of the more popular survey offerwalls (perhaps the most popular), because they give a small amount of credit even if you fail to qualify for the survey. I have heard that the mobile app version of TapResearch also gives partial credit for surveys even when you fail to qualify, though I haven't actually used Cointiply by mobile app myself. Other survey walls I have had positive experiences with, besides TheoremReach, are the YourSurveys offerwall and the Pollfish offerwall.

Note that there are sometimes holiday bonuses on surveys and other offers you complete.

Here is an example of some of my earnings from doing TheoremReach surveys before the Christmas bonus.

A hint on the TheoremReach surveys: skip the "10% bonus" one. The 10% bonus only applies for an hour, and is in lieu of an actual coin reward. In my experience, it is generally better to do the same survey for a coin reward than for a 10% bonus. Doing it for the 10% bonus will prevent you from being able to do it for the 10% bonus. While in theory, the 10% bonus might work out okay if it is a low paying survey anyway and the you do enough surveys in one hour to be 10x the value of the one you did for the 10% bonus rather than a coin reward, in practice, this seems unlikely to be the case most of the time.

PTC ads (Paid-to-click advertisements)

The PTC ads are a very easy, albeit low-paying way to earn on Cointiply. Note that although clicking a PTC ad will count towards building and keeping your loyalty bonus for the day, the loyalty bonus does not actually increase your earnings from ads - the loyalty bonus only increases your earnings from the faucet. You typically earn between 6 coins and 20 coins for viewing one ad, and there are usually enough ads to let you earn between 200 and 400 coins in a day just from viewing PTC ads. After each one, you have to complete an easy captcha, where you select a particular image such as bucket, medicine, etc. Although the captcha is easy, make sure to do it right, or you will not get credit for the ad and not be able to re-try that particular ad that day. Each PTC ad has to be viewed for a particular time, and I notice that I have to add about 2 seconds on to whatever the instructions say. So if it says to view the ad for 5 seconds, you probably have to view it for 7 seconds. The higher paying ads generally have longer required viewing times, and the lower paying ads generally have shorter required viewing times. If you don't view it for long enough, you can switch back, as long as you haven't closed the tab, but if you have closed the tab for the ad, you will not get credit and will not be able to retry that particular ad that day, so make sure to confirm you viewed the ad for long enough before closing the tab for it. Also, if an ad interests you, bookmark it and go solve the captcha anyway, since letting the captcha time out for too long can also cause you to lose credit.

Here is an example of what a captcha for the PTC ads looks like.

Watch out for trick captchas like the one below. For example, the paint is inside a bucket, but counts as a separate image from the bucket image, so if it asks you to click on the bucket, make sure not to click on the paint image, even though the paint is shown inside the bucket. Also be careful not to mix up the medicine, the pills, and the first aid kit. In the image below, clicking on the picture to the far left would successfully complete the captcha, but clicking on the picture in the middle would cause you to fail the captcha.

PTC ads can appear throughout the day, so if you enjoy this particular activity, feel free to check back again after an hour or so. (However, I do not recommend checking constantly.)

I have noticed that one of the bonuses on my account, most likely the bonus from the equippables I received from pods (discussed later in this guide) seems to increase some of my PTC ad earnings. The extra does not appear in my earning history, and the only way I am able to see the difference is by refreshing the page right after viewing the PTC ad, and noting that my account earnings have increased (in some cases) by one coin more than expected. The extra, for me at least, is not applied to ads that only pay 6 or 7 coins, but does seem to be applied to ads that pay 9 coins or more.

Here's a screenshot of some of my Cointiply PTC ad earnings.

The faucet and loyalty bonus

The easiest way to earn coins on Cointiply is the hourly faucet. (At least it is hourly in the US, UK, and France.) What you get from the faucet depends on a number of different factors, such as your cointiplier, your daily bonus, and what you roll on your spin. With the default cointiplier of 1.5, no loyalty bonus, and a bad roll, you will only get 14 coins. However, the loyalty bonus can go up to 100% after 100 days of logging into Cointiply and rolling the faucet at least once per day without missing any days, which will bring your minimum roll up to 28 coins, even if you still have only the 1.5 cointiplier. However, if you roll higher than 70,000 (out of a maximum of 100,000), or if you roll a prime number, your earning from a roll can be significantly higher. Note that other activities you do on Cointiply can also count towards building and keeping your loyalty bonus, even if for some reason you choose not to roll the faucet. This is useful to know in case the faucet is on cooldown at daily reset time, and you need to get credit for your daily participation right away for some reason. In that case, I suggest you click on a PTC ad instead for quick loyalty credit. Daily reset occurs at midnight UTC time, so you can go longer than 24 hours without participating in Cointiply without losing your loyalty bonus, as long as you make one faucet claim, or other activity, once every UTC day. So, for example, if you rolled the faucet right after midnight UTC one day, and right before midnight UTC the next, you should not lose your loyalty bonus in spite of having went nearly 48 hours between faucet rolls. That said, if you are trying to build and keep the loyalty bonus, I recommend always claiming as soon after daily reset as your schedule allows, in case your internet connection fails unexpectedly right before you are planning to claim.

Here's what you can earn at the default Cointiplier of 1.5.

Remember that all of these numbers can be doubled with the 100% loyalty bonus, so if you have that, then instead of 14, 23, 42, 86, or 160 coins for the rolls shown above, you can get 28, 46, 84, 172, or 320 coins for the rolls shown above. The loyalty bonus will also double any extra you get from prime number rolls. I've never won the jackpot, but I assume that would be doubled too.

See these two examples:

Additionally, prime numbers give an extra 27 coins at the default Cointiplier of 1.5, and more at higher Cointipliers.. (If you have the max loyalty bonus, this is doubled to an extra 54 coins). For example:

Here's a couple more screenshots that show how having a higher Cointiplier can increase your earnings. As you can see below, at a 1.6 Cointiplier, the minimum roll is 15 coins and the prime number bonus is 30 coins (doubled at max loyalty), and at a 1.65 Cointiplier, the minimum roll is 16 coins and the prime number bonus is 31 coins (doubled at max loyalty.

Note that if you get a premium membership, you can skip 2 days within a 100-day period without your loyalty bonus resetting to 0. Given the cost of the membership, this may not be worth it, but the option exists.

When claiming from this faucet, you have a choice between solving an reCAPTCHA or solving a SolveMedia captcha to prove you are not a bot. I find that reCAPTCHA is very easy if I don't use it much, but starts to penalize frequent users with increasingly difficult captchas. SolveMedia captchas vary in difficulty, but don't seem specifically designed to increase in difficulty the more you use SolveMedia, and if one captcha is too hard, you can ask SolveMedia for another. Feel free to use whichever is easiest for you, including switching between both of them if you prefer.

Rain Pool

The rain pool is an easy earn even more from your other activities on Cointiply, especially if you complete a lot of surveys. The way the rain pool works has recently changed. Although people used to have to have to say helpful or friendly things in chat to join the rain pool (and wait for their chat comments to be approved), now you can click a button from the chat area to join the rain pool. First click the "Start Chatting" button.

Then click the "Click to Qualify for Rain Pool" button.

Then click "I understand".

However, to earn more than a 0% share, you must complete at least one PTC ad, survey, or other offer during the day (though not necessarily during that particular rain pool). You can increase your share by continuing to do offers and other activities on Cointiply. I've noticed that earning lots of coins on Cointiply, for example by doing a lot of surveys, seems to increase your share not only in the current rain pool, but in later rain pools that day as well, although I think it may reset at midnight UTC. After a rain pool ends, you will earn coins based on your share percentage and the pool size, and you must click the button again to join the next rain pool, if you wish to do so. Note that Cointiply does not immediately calculate your share percentage, so if you join a pool late, and it rains before calculating your share, you might not get anything from that rain pool.

Here's an example of the sort of rain reward you might get if you've done a few surveys.

And here's an example of the sort of rain reward you might get if you've only rolled the faucet and clicked on PTC ads.

Note that rain rewards can vary based on a variety of factors.

Videos

Videos, although time-consuming, are another easy way to earn on Cointiply. The two most popular video offerwalls seem to be Hideout.tv and VideoFox. I believe if you want to do VideoFox, you have to start right after whenever their daily reset is, since they seem to run out of funds fast and then the offer is not available for the rest of the day. I myself have not bothered with VideoFox for a long time. As for Hideout.tv, you have to create an account with them to in order to get credit. Also, note that some people have reported failing to get credit for Hideout.tv even after getting an account with them. Watching videos is considered semi-passive, since although you are expected to be present and watch the videos, you don't really have to do much other than just watch them.

Here is an example of my earnings from Hideout.tv.

Other offers

Cointiply has a very large number of offers available. Other types of offers, besides the surveys and videos already mentioned, include installing apps and fun quizzes.

Interest and security

You want to make sure the "Enable 5% annual interest on your Coin balances over 35,000 Coins" option is enabled in your account settings. Like so:

35,000 coins is $3.50 USD. This is not an FDIC-insured bank, so don't put your life savings here or anything, but it can be a nice little bonus on whatever you choose to keep in your Cointiply account.  Note that since coins are pegged to the dollar, you will have to withdraw to Bitcoin or whatever if you want to benefit to whatever gains Bitcoin (or your preferred cryptocurrency) makes over time relative to the dollar. One strategy people often use is to withdraw if they think bitcoin will rise in price in the near future, but keep their earnings in their Cointiply account if they expect bitcoin will fall in price in the near future.

If you do choose to keep more than 30,000 coins in your Cointiply account (the minimum withdrawal if you choose to withdraw in doge), make sure you set at least e-mail based two-factor authentication, and use a secure e-mail service such as Protonmail. For even higher security, you can use an authenticator app. (Although make sure you have some form of backup in case you lose the device with the authenticator app on it.) Cointiply will only ask for two-factor authentication (assuming you have it enabled) when it sees you using a new device or IP address, so this won't annoy you constantly.

Note that earning interest will not count towards keeping your loyalty bonus. To keep your loyalty bonus, you must do something active on Cointiply, not just passively earn interest.

Here's an example of a weekly interest payment on a low Cointiply balance of only around $9 USD.

Referrals

If you are good at promoting Cointiply to your friends or other people, referrals are another way to earn. For example, my referral link is:

http://cointiply.com/r/o7z0L

and I have included it a number of times throughout this review and guide. When you refer someone, you earn 25% of their faucet earnings (that is to say, they still earn 100% of their faucet earnings, but then you earn 25% of whatever that is, so Cointiply ends up paying out 125% in total) and 10% of their offer wall earnings.

Note that referral earnings are batched daily, for example:

Games

I haven't been able to get the games to correctly give rewards lately, but they have worked in the past. Assuming this is an error on my end, in theory, playing games are a low-paying way to earn on Cointiply, but fun, and we all need recreational time anyway. While playing games such as Solitaire or Mahjong, you will also see ads, which I suppose funds this portion of the website.

Pods

Pods are a way to provide a percentage boost to your offer wall earnings. Once you have enough Cointipoints (which are distinct from Coins) you can buy pods. Pods cost 2250, 5000, or 9000 Cointipoints, depending on the quality of the pod. (You can also buy pods with Coins, but I would recommend just waiting until you have enough Cointipoints.) Higher quality pods have a higher chance of giving you higher quality items. Items you get from pods can be classified as equippable or consumable. Equippable ones can give you a permanent boost to your offer wall earnings, and consumable ones can give you a temporary boost to your offer wall earnings or be consumed for coins. Note that you have a limited number of slots to put items in, although the number of slots will increase over time.

I have three equippables currently equipped that give me a a total of a 7% boost (2% + 2% + 3%) on my offer earnings. Other people, who have had more luck than I have from pods, have even bigger boosts.

Personally, I recommend buying the lower quality pods - with Cointipoints, not with Coins (don't waste your Coins on them) until you have enough equippables to fill all your equippable slots. You can have a maximum of four equippable slots, but have to reach level 71 to unlock them all. Once all your equippable slots are filled, you can focus on buying the rare pods to try to upgrade your equippables.

Promo Codes

You can get promo codes for Cointiply by checking Cointiply's twitter account. Here's a screenshot of my earnings from a promo code. Note that these promo codes will expire if you don't use them soon enough.

Also, so far as I know, the promotional code WELCOME will work for new users who haven't used it before.

For a bit more detailed help with Cointiply promo codes, see this blog post.

Gambling

I do not recommend gambling as a way to earn money or cryptocurrency because of the potential to lose, but some people enjoy gambling for fun, and gambling the coins you earned on the site may be a fun way to gamble, for those who enjoy it, without putting your life savings at risk. But remember, never bet more than you are willing to lose. Also, please be aware of your religious beliefs and local laws regarding gambling. For those who are interested in gambling on Cointiply, you can click go to Earn Coins -> Play the Multiplier in the top menu.

Is Cointiply safe for work?

In so far as I haven't seen any p**n on Cointiply, yes. However, I haven't tested every offerwall to ensure they are all p***-free, and while I don't recall ever seeing p*** on PTC ads, that doesn't mean that nothing could ever slip by the site's curators. Using Cointiply while at work is probably a bad idea for other reasons - you should probably be focused on your job while at work (then again, maybe you spend a lot of time waiting for customers to walk in) - but there are other reasons someone might ask this, like if they sometimes use the computer while their family is around, or if they have very strong religious, moral, or emotional objections to content that is not generally considered safe for work.

Payment proof

Click here to view the transaction I have screenshotted on the blockchain.

A few notes about withdrawing from Cointiply:
  • The minimum withdrawal to bitcoin is 50,000 coins, or $5 USD, and how many satoshi that ends up being varies based on exchange rates. The minimum withdrawal to dogecoin is 30,000 coins, or $3 USD, and how many dogecoin that ends up being varies based on exchange rates.
  • Cointiply currently covers transaction fees, but this could change in the future.
  • Cointiply, at least with the security settings I have it configured to use, requires e-mail confirmation for the withdrawal, and gives me a chance to cancel the withdrawal before it is processed by clicking a link from my e-mail. This is part of why I use Protonmail, a fairly secure encrypted e-mail service, as my registration e-mail for most cryptocurrency-earning websites.
  • Based on my admittedly limited understanding of Bitcoin transactions, you should use a new receive address for each and every Bitcoin transaction to your wallet, for reasons of privacy and security. And some people also say it doesn't hurt to use multiple wallets, rather than putting all your satoshi in one wallet. Once I understand the why of this better, I should write a blog post about it. And as far as I know, the same applies to Doge.
  • The wallet software I used in the screenshots above is Electrum. Electrum isn't as secure as a cold wallet (i.e. a paper wallet, hardware wallet, or other wallet not connected to the internet), but it is, at least, more secure than a web wallet. (Unless you're in some situation where you have reason not to trust your own computer more than you trust a web wallet provider, in which case, I feel for you, but your security issues are beyond the scope of this blog post.)

Summary

Cointiply is a great site for earning cryptocurrency, whether you prefer to earn a lot by doing surveys, or just a little by rolling the faucet, clicking on PTC ads, watching videos, and playing games. However, be sure to keep your account secure, and remember to disable and proxies, VPNs, or adblockers while using Cointiply.

I have recently received a $5 Amazon gift card from SwagBucks (see my review and guide, which includes info on sign up bonuses, payment proof, as well as earning strategies), but Swagbucks technically awards gift cards rather than cryptocurrency. It may be possible to use the Visa gift cards to buy cryptocurrency, but I haven't tested the Visa gift cards yet.

For a VPN with a browser-only option, meaning you can use it for your non-crypto-earning browser or browsers but not for the browser or browsers you use for claiming from faucets and earning cryptocurrency in other ways, see my Windscribe review. Please remember not to use Windscribe in the browser or browsers you use for earning on Cointiply or other faucets or crypto-earning websites. Windscribe is a VPN. However, it is useful for other purposes, like keeping your politics private from your ISP.
